Maruti Udyog LtdĀ reported on Monday a 25.5 per cent increase in domestic sales at 56,000 units during June as against 44,626 units in the corresponding month last year.
The company exported 3,917 units during June compared to 3,799 units in the same month last year, up 3.1 per cent year-on-year, MUL said in a statement.
In the C segment, comprising Omni and Versa, MUL sold 8,017 units in the month as against 6,464 in June last, up 24 per cent year-on-year, the statement said.
The company sold 37,646 units in the A2 segment comprising hatchbacks Alto, Wagon-R, Zen and Swift as against 27,228 units in the same month last year, up 38.3 per cent y-o-y.
Sales of sedans Esteem and newly-launched SX4 increased 46.4 per cent in the month at 3,923 units. Sales in the A1 segment, comprising MUL's flagship Maruti-800, dipped 20.3 per cent at 6,214 units.
Domestic sales during the first quarter of this fiscal ended June 30 rose 17.1 per cent at 1,60,094 units as against 1,36,130 units in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. Exports during the quarter were up 15.6 per cent at 9,065 units.
Sales in the A1 segment declined 11.4 per cent at 17,994 units during the quarter while sales in the C segment jumped 22.7 per cent at 20,631 units, in the A2 segment by 20.7 per cent at 1,10,413 units and in the A3 segment by 46 per cent at 11,056 units, it said.
