Sales in November are MSIL's highest ever in a single month, beating the previous best of 64,556 units achieved in March this year, MSIL said in a statement.
During the month MSIL's entry-level hatchback Alto also achieved its highest ever sales in a single month at 22,784 units. The previous best for the Alto was 22,294 units in October 2006.
In the A2 segment comprising hatchbacks Alto, Wagon-R, Zen and Swift, the company reported a 28.6 per cent jump in sales at 47,641 units compared to 37,060 units in the same month last year.
Sales of flagship Maruti 800 continued to skid, dropping by 6.4 per cent in November at 5,653 units as against 6,040 units in the same month a year ago.
The A3 segment comprising sedans Esteem and SX4 more than doubled during November to 4,260 units compared to 2,083 units during the same month a year-ago.
In the MUV segment comprising Gypsy and Grand Vitara, the company reported a 37.3 per cent jump in sales during the month at 331 units. Exports in November grew 82.3 per cent to 4,483 units as against 2,459 units a year ago.
During the April-November period of this fiscal, MSIL reported an 18 per cent jump in sales in the domestic market at 4,66,323 units as against 3,95,090 units in the corresponding period of last fiscal.
