Bharti to invest $3.5 bn in 2007-08

Bharti Airtel announced on Friday an investment of $3.5 billion (up to Rs 15,000 crore) in 2007-08 to enhance its telecom network across the country.

"We are planning to add 30,000 base-stations this year, largest anywhere in the world," Bharti Airtel CMD Sunil Mittal said while announcing the financial results.

He said the significant investment will also go in expansion of broadband and enterprise services.
