Sensex up 80 points at 13,696

The markets ended higher on the F&O settlement day on the back of buying in index pivotals. The Sensex closed at 13,696.31 up 79.58 points or 0.58%. The Nifty gained 26 points to close at 3954. The BSE Small Cap Index closed at 6,647.08 up 12 points or 0.2%.

The BSE Midcap Index ended at 5,721.60 down 6 points or 0.1%.

The BSE Bankex was up 1.3% at 7,179.71. Karnataka Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank, SBI moved upwards.

The BSE Capital Goods Index was flat at 8,943.28. Lakshmi Machine, Dredging Corp, Greaves Cotton, BEML closed higher.

The BSE Health Care Index was flat at 3,720.61. Aurobindo Pharm, Lupin, Cipla, Dr Reddys Labs, Biocon closed higher.

The BSE Oil and Gas Index lost 0.3% to close at 6,078.18. MRPL, IOC, HPCL, BPCL ended in red.

The BSE Auto Index closed at 5,321.85 down 0.3%. Punj Tractors, Hind Motors, Ashok Leyland, Escorts, Exide Industries ended lower.

The BSE Metal Index was down 1.1% to close at 8,879.95. Guj NRE Coke, Tata Steel, SAIL, Mah Seamless, JSW Steel closed in red

The BSE FMCG Index gained 0.2% at 2,018.52. United Spirits, Dabur India, Nestle, ITC closed in green.

The BSE IT Index gained 1.4% at 5,107.22. Wipro, TCS, Satyam, HCL Tech advanced.

The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 12700.05 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 44033.4 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 4823.99 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 61557.44 crore.
