Stock picks of the day

The market hasn't been able to sustain itself at higher levels despite a decent opening and has ended the day absolutely flat. Capital Goods, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Metals, Oil and PSU's have ended positive in varying degrees while Banks, Pharma, IT and Auto have ended in negative territory. Volume registered a huge increase (read as turnover) while the undertone seemed subdued.

Trading Range - The Sensex opened at 10862, moved up to an intra-day high of 10924, declined to an intra-day low of 10793 and closed at 10841.

Review/Outlook - The Sensex has reflected some amount of indecision by staying within the previous day's trading range but surprisingly enough on significantly higher volume. The outlook hasn't changed much, the bigger picture continues to remain positive while the extreme near term picture is getting a bit heavy while intra-day weakness could come in only below the 10784 level.
