Stock picks of the day

The market hasn't been able to sustain itself at higher levels and has ended the day clearly in negative territory. Consumer Durables, Pharma, Auto, Metals and Oil & Gas have ended positive in varying degrees while Banks, Capital Goods, FMCG, IT and PSU's have ended in negative territory. Volume registered a noticeable decrease (read as turnover) while the undertone seemed subdued.

Last Close - 10595 | Support - 10500, 10400 | Resistance - 10600, 10700

Trading Range - The Sensex opened at 10649, moved up to an intra-day high of 10690, declined to an intra-day low of 10556 and closed at 10595.

Review/Outlook - The Sensex has cooled off a bit from an intra-day point of view on expected lines but has still ended the week on an ebullient note. The medium term outlook continues to remain positive despite the near term picture looking a bit heavy while intra-day weakness could come in only below the 10556 level – an upside only on a close above the 10695 level.
