Maruti Udyog Ltd on Thursday reported a 27.24 per cent increase in domestic sales at 50,904 units in May this year as against 40,006 units in the same month last year.
The total sales stood at 53,396 units during the month, which includes 2,492 units of exports.
The company said sales in the domestic A1 segment (Maruti800) grew by 10.25 per cent in May compared to sales in the same month last year.
Sales in the domestic A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift) increased by 38.56 per cent, while sales in the A3 segment (Baleno and Esteem) rose by 9.93 per cent during May.
