Hunger strike at Mumbai airport

The Airport Authority Officers' Association on Thursday began an indefinite relay hunger strike in front of the departure terminal of Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport in Mumbai.

Around 200 officers are participating in the agitation, joint secretary of AAI employees joint forum, Nitin Jadhav said.

The officers were holding peaceful agitation without disturbing flight operations or affecting the functioning of the airport, he said.

The unions, which are part of the AAI employees' joint forum, are Airport Authority Officers Association, Airport Communication Officers Association and Airport Authority of India Engineers Guild.
