Wipro Technologies has been ranked 7th in the list, which comprises some of the largest IT companies of the world, and is the only Indian company to make it to the top 10.
The panel of judges comprised outsourcing industry experts including Chris Disher, vice president and head of outsourcing advisory services, Booze Allen Hamilton, David Barett, advisor on outsourcing and partner at Simmons & Simmons, Michael F Corbett, executive director, IAOP, Deborah Kops, managing director of global sourcing transformation, Deutsche Bank, Lisa Ross, CEO of FAO Research and Atul Vashistha, CEO of neoIT.
According to a release issued by Wipro Technologies on Thursday, the ranking of companies was done on the basis of revenue growth, number of employees, skills and training of workforce, number of technical and business certifications secured, track record of the management team and quality of customer service.
Girish Paranjpe, president (finance solutions) of Wipro Technologies, said the IAOP rankings were a validation of the company's unique leadership position in the global IT industry.
"As a pioneer in offering new services and software quality processes, Wipro has maintained its true leadership," he added.
