HCL Infosystems is planning tie-ups with global companies to market their digital lifestyle products.

"We have acquired considerable knowledge in large-scale distribution and warehousing. We plan to use this knowledge for distribution of digital lifestyle products. We will make announcements on the tie-ups in a few weeks," Ajai Chowdhry, chairman and CEO of HCL Infosystems, said.

The company already has a distribution agreement with Nokia for handsets and host of office automation companies.

With the demand for personal computers expected to rise from 4.5 million units at present, HCL Infosystems is augmenting its manufacturing capability.

"We are setting up a big manufacturing facility in Uttaranchal, which can be expanded in keeping with the demand," he said.

The company had recently augmented capacity at its Pondicherry plant from 6 to10 lakh units. In this facility, the company had added two lines for making note book computers.

Chowdhry said the company's notebook computers have received tremendous response from the market.
