Satyam Computer Services on Friday said it would invest $75 million in 2006-07 to augment its infrastructure and was looking at a location in the National Capital Region to set up a new development centre.
"We expect to spend $75 million in 2006-07 as part of the capital exenditure plans. We are also looking to set up a centre in North India around Delhi," Ram Mynampati, president, Healthcare and Commercial Businesses at Satyam, said.
The company had recently announced development centres in Kolkata, Vizag and Mumbai.
Mynampati, who is the first employee of the company to be inducted on the board of the company as a functional director, said the company is also looking for opportunities to expand its global presence.
Apart from India, Satyam has development centres in Australia, Canada, China, Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, UK and USA.
In China, the company has 300 people while in Canada it has a headcount of 250. In Hungary, it has 100 people.
In Brazil, where it set up a centre in 2004, Satyam has got seven customers. It is also bullish about the growth prospects in Latin America.
At present, 30 per cent of the the company's 28,624 employees are outside India.
In 2006-07, it plans to hire another 10,000 to 12,000 people. In the last quarter of 2005-06 it added 3,079 employees.
