RIL sends aid worth Rs 1 cr to J&K

Joining the relief measures for the quake-hit state of Jammu and Kashmir, Reliance Industries Ltd on Monday said it had sent supplies worth Rs 1 crore (Rs 10 million) for the victims.

The supplies, which are being transported by the Indian Air Force in Tangdhar and Uri areas of Jammu and Kashmir, included 10,000 blankets, 10,000 tarpaulin, tents and dwelling units, 1,000 units of food items and 5,000 units of woollen clothes, the company said in a statement.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, RIL chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani said the company would provide more funds based on the situation on the ground as soon as the needs were fully assessed, the statement said.
