The A340-300E aircraft was selected because of its high degree of operational flexibility and economy combined with optimal passenger comfort.

To run the aircraft without any glitches, Jet has inked a pact with Lufthansa Technik for maintenance support and assignment of qualified engineers.

Jet currently operates a fleet of 36 classic and next generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft and 8 modern ATR72-500 Turboprop aircraft.

With an average age of a little over 4.7 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world.

Jet Airways has come a long way since May 5, 1993 when it started operations with a fleet of three Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

In the eleven years of its existence, Jet has established itself as "India's most preferred airline'.
