iGate Global Solutions Ltd on Monday said it would hire 1000 professionals to expand contact centre operations in Noida.

iGate Global Solutions will hire 1000 people for integrated technology and operations expansion at its contact centre in Noida, the company informed the National Stock Exchange.

"Of the 1,000 people we are planning to hire this year, 500 will be stationed in Noida and an equal number in Bangalore," iGate's chief executive officer Phaneesh Murthy said.

"We see increasing traction in the marketplace for our integrated delivery model. The expansion is in line with our plans to build the required capability and scale that we need for going forward," he said.

In the October-December quarter, the company won two large integrated technology and operations deals. The expansion will take the company's headcount in Noida to 850 while in Bangalore, its workforce will grow to 1,700.

In Chennai too, iGate plans to take the headcount to 850 from 350 at present. In all, the company has 3,700 employees.

iGate is currently in the process of completing second phase of its 14 acre integrated technology and operations campus in Bangalore. "The second phase in Bangalore will be completed by the first week of March," Murthy said.

"The inauguration of the second phase in Bangalore will add 1,500 seats to our infrastructure and we will move 1,200 people who are working from other locations in the city to the campus," he said.

The company will also inaugurate a new 35,000 sq ft Chennai facility on January 20, Karan Puri, head of contact centre at iGate, said. The company has six development centres in India.
