Forex reserves up at $145 billion

India's forex reserves increased by $1.057 billion to stand at $145 billion during the week ended December 16 against $143.943 billion during the preceding week.

The reserves were increased by $845 million during the preceding week ended December 9 compared to a week ago period.

Foreign currency assets increased by $1.042 billion at $138.816 billion during the 7-day period ended December 16, according to figures released by the Reserve Bank.

Foreign currency assets in dollars include the effect of revaluation of non-US currencies such as Euro, Sterling, Yen held in reserves.

Reserve position in the IMF increased by $14 million at $1.254 billion.
