In July 1998, the Outlook Group launched Intelligent Investor only to re-christen it Outlook Money in November 2002.
Billed as India's first personal finance magazine it has lived up to its name. According to Outlook, the most distinguishing characteristic of the magazine has been the fact that 93 per cent of its readers retain all past issues of Outlook Money, akin to what happens with the National Geographic Magazine.
The annual Outlook Money Awards were first instituted in 2002 to take note of the achievements of companies in facilitating wealth creation while protecting individuals' interests.
For the 2004 edition of the awards, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Kamal Nath gave away the awards at a well attended function at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
Awards were given across nine categories which included Best Value Creator Award, Dream Home Award, Wealth Creator Award, Best Insurer Award, Best Banker Award, Best e-Brokerage Award, Best Listing (IPO), Best Merchant Banker and the Hall of Fame Awards.
