Daniel Snyder, the redoubtable owner of Washington Redskins, the American football team, is the United States' 9th richest man under 40.
Washington Redskins is one of the US capital's most recognisable institutions. The team dates to 1932, then known as the Boston Braves. It changed its name in 1933 and moved to Washington, DC, in 1937.
An ownership group led by former Snyder Communications CEO Daniel Snyder bought the team and Jack Kent Cooke Stadium (now FedEx Field) in 1999 for $800 million.
