"The proposal will subsequently be presented to the respective boards of the six IIMs for their consideration and approval," he said.

Dholakia said the IIM-A board would meet on June 19 to consider and approve the proposal.
All aspects of the problem, and "concerns of the ministry, institutes and boards... everything has been discussed and the proposal is based on an overview of all these aspects," he said.

Asked if the "younger" IIMs would be able to bear the burden of scholarships and if they had sought any government help, IIM- Lucknow Director Devi Singh said, "This was part of the proposal and that it was one the issues where there was consensus."
Asked whether the "differences" between the institutes had been sorted out, the IIM directors said there was consensus on all the issues among them.

The board meetings will be held on June 19 (IIM-Ahmedabad), June 23 (Lucknow), June 21 (Bangalore), June 18 (Calcutta), June 19 (Kozhikode) and June 14 (Indore), the directors announced.
