With Indo-Pak relations entering a new phase, the first ever information technology delegation from Pakistan will participate in the National Association of Software and Service Companies' annual summit, starting next month.

A 20-member IT delegation from Pakistan led by Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), will take part in the Nasscom Leadership Forum being held from February 3, a Nasscom statement said in New Delhi on Monday.

This is the first ever IT delegation from Pakistan to visit India and taking this forward, Nasscom will organise an Indian IT delegation to visit Pakistan later this year.

Pakistan's leading IT companies like Millennium Systems, Autosoft Dynamics, iWays, Sunsoft, Arwin Technologies, Enabling Technologies, Kontact Ltd, OraTech and ITEC will be in India to explore possibilities of working together, it said.

"The purpose of the visit and the association between Nasscom and P@SHA is not only to explore and cultivate IT trade and opportunities, but also share Indian IT companies' success and experience in providing high quality services and process management skills," Kiran Karnik, president, Nasscom, said.

"The software industry is growing at an enormous pace in Pakistan. This visit aims to enhance business opportunities and help Nasscom and P@SHA to put together a framework of cooperation in the IT sector," Jehan Ara, president, P@SHA, said.

The Pakistan software industry is in its early stages and has an approximate revenue earnings of $50 million and most of the companies are in the SMEs segment. P@SHA has 250 members.
