Xansa India Limited, an international business process and IT services company, is planning to increase its headcount to 7,000 at its Chennai facility by 2007. Once the headcount is increased, Xansa's Chennai facility will become the company's biggest facility globally.
The company will also drive its parent company Xansa Plc's commercial, administrative and marketing strategy out of India in the next three years.
Outsourcing and India: Complete Coverage
"More than half of Xansa's top 30 clientele are using India's capability. Going forward, this number will only increase. In our Chennai office we will have representation of all our sectors and practices that Xansa has worldwide," said Amitabh Shrivastava, director, Chennai operations. The Chennai facility will focus mainly on retail, utilities and telecom verticals for its IT software services operations.
Xansa's operations in Noida, Pune and Chennai will focus on the horizontals of enterprise solutions, and finance and accounting-shared services.
The company's BPO operations, which are mostly non-voice, will comprise only 25 per cent of its total business. Xansa, which has most of its clients based in the UK and Ireland, will lay a larger thrust on the US market in the next few years. At present, the US accounts for only 5 per cent of its total business.
Xansa's BPO operations will be mainly driven by high-value transaction processing in the insurance and finance space. "We are not looking beyond Chennai for growth as the city satisfies all our present requirements," Shrivastava added.
