As part of efforts to boost Indo-US trade ties, a high-level American delegation led by president and CEO of US Chamber of Commerce Thomas J Donahue will visit India on Tuesday for a meeting with the Confederation of Indian Industry.

"With bulging forex reserves, growing foreign trade and high rate of growth in all major sectors, India has so much to offer to the US," the CII said in a statement in New Delhi on Monday.

The US Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing three million companies, associations, state and local chambers and American Chambers of Commerce abroad, CII said, adding that the two have been working together since long.

Total bilateral trade between India and the US grew at 11.8 per cent in 2003 to touch $18 billion, CII said, adding US exports to India increased by an impressive 22 per cent during the same period.

The focus of the meeting between the visiting team and CII members would be 'India-US: The Emerging Trade Agenda', the CII said. The participants would seek ways to enhance the trade relationship between the two countries, it added.

Apart from Donahue, the US delegation comprises Steven Van Andel, chairman and CEO of Alticor Inc; Edward Wanadi, chairman and CEO of Trailmobile and Michael T Clark, executive director of US-India Business Council.
