HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES...: Charles Philip Arthur George, better known as Prince Charles, 55, is back in India after eleven years on a nine-day visit to highlight the close links between Britain and India.

The Prince of Wales's title carries no formal role, but he has created a new role through which to serve Britain. He is the 21st holder of the title in 700 years and the heir to the British throne.

He has developed his role as a catalyst to boost the United Kingdom's business and other interests the world over.

The Prince is highly impressed with India's strides in information technology, and sat through a presentation organised by Nasscom to showcase India's strength in the infotech arena.

Prince Charles undertakes about 500 public engagements in Britain and overseas.

He is also a permanent patron of over 270 organisations. He is an honorary life member of nearly 200 organisations.
