GE Capital International Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Electric Company, USA, announced the launch of its latest IT-enabled services facility in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the new facility, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said: "The 21st century is the information age. As part of our vision for Andhra Pradesh, we are committed to creating an all-important IT culture in the state.
"In the last two years we have ensured a smooth path for IT investors and have encouraged leading IT companies to set up development centres in AP."
Announcing the launch, Scott R Bayman, president and CEO of GE India said: "With the launch of this new center, GE further strengthens its commitment to Andhra Pradesh and to India."
The 14-acre facility will provide specialised IT-enabled support services ranging from data entry to transaction processing and high-end financial and software services.
Phase-I of the centre is currently operational and has employee strength of over 2,000.
