KNOWLEDGE, THE SUPREME GOAL: At IIT-Bombay's 41st Convocation, 1,247 degrees were awarded to successful candidates. Of this, 649 were at the Undergraduate level, 753 for Masters, and 83 for doctoral scholars.
The total number of degrees awarded by IIT-Bombay now stands at 26,616 since its first Convocation in 1962. Since 1999-2000, its student strength has gone up to 4,829.
And since then, IIT-Bombay has been guided by its motto: Gynanam Paramam Dhyeam (Knowledge is the supreme goal).
