SOUND ADVICE: "Great ideas are empty unless you transform them into something useful. You have to innovate reality," said Rajiv L Gupta, chief guest at the 41st Convocation, IIT-Bombay, in his address to the students.
Gupta, an alumnus of IIT-Bombay, is the CEO of Rohm & Hass, a $6 billion specialty chemicals company.
After a BTech in mechanical engineering from IIT-Bombay in 1967, Gupta did his MS in Operations Research from Cornell and MBA in Finance from Drexel University, USA. In 1971 he joined Rohm & Hass and became its CEO in 1999.
