GERC issues Tariff Order for Ahmedabad Electricity Co
Ahmedabad Electricity Company Ltd has informed BSE that Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has issued Tariff Order for the Ahmedabad Electricity Company Ltd (AEC) on September 5, 2002. The tariff is effective August 1, 2002.
Tariff Application from the AEC has been evaluated by GERC after elaborate exercise inviting public comments and personal hearings from more than 60 individuals/ public organizations mainly consumer education and research society, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and other group consumers who represented various issues.
There is an overall increase in tariff of 1.19% as compared to electricity rates applicable during March 2002. However there is a marginal decrease in tariffs for High Tension Consumers.
New tariff for the consumers of AEC is lower than the GEB tariff for almost all the categories of consumers.

Kennametal Inc acquires majority stake interest in Widia India
