Maruti MD seeks govt nod for pay hikeMaruti Udyog managing director Jagdish Khattar has once again approached the government for revising the directors' pay package. After failing to get consent from Manohar Joshi twice in the last two years, Khattar has now approached Power Minister Suresh Prabhu who is also holding additional charge of the heavy industries ministry, with his proposal keeping in view the scheduled joint meeting of the auto joint venture on Thursday. Official sources in Delhi confirmed they had received a proposal from the MD requesting consideration of the pay package. Khattar had in September, 2000 and later in May 2001 approached the heavy industries ministry for revision of pay but the same was shot down apparently on account of differences between the MD and the ministry. The request for a revision in pay comes at a time when Suzuki has conveyed its decision to continue with Khattar as the MD for another five years. ALSO READ:
