MERC's Deo will not hear DPC caseMaharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has decided to keep away its third member Jayant Deo from the matter related to Dabhol Power Company in future as he has expressed his unwillingness to hear the DPC case. Speaking to mediapersons at the sidelines of a seminar on 'Regulation in energy markets-post dismantling of administered price mechanism in petroleum sector' in Mumbai on Wednesday, MERC chairman P Subrahmanyam said that Deo had already chosen to keep himself away from the matter related to DPC as the company had alleged him to be biased. DPC had made the allegation as prior to being nominated to the MERC, Deo was attached to Mumbai Grahak Panchayat Samiti where he did some research work on DPC project. He said DPC's request seeking more time to move the Supreme Court had been granted by the Bombay high court and now the company will file a suit in the apex court on legal grounds. Hailing Tuesday's Bombay high court verdict in favour of MSEB as 'historic', he said the two members will hear the case if it comes before MERC. UNI YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO READ:
