Dhirubhai Ambani's condition remains criticalThe condition of Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of India's largest business house Reliance Industries Limited, who is in Breach Candy Hospital for the last 60 hours following a cerebral stroke, continues to be critical despite all life support systems in place and expert medical consultation.
"Unfortunately, I cannot give any new positive news about my father's health," he said. Dhirubhai was admitted to the hospital on June 24. A seemingly relaxed Anil said his family was in consultation with doctors and medical experts, especially with those who have been associated with his father's treatment for some time. "We have no plan to invite any international doctor and experts. We have full faith in the extreme leadership and guidance of Dr Farooq Udwadia and his team," Ambani clarified. Ambani had on Wednesday said that consultations from international institutions have been sought to provide best possible medical assistance to Dhirubhai. "We do not see the need to take steps that are unnecessary," he said. Expressing his gratitude to the Reliance patriarch's well-wishers, Anil said: "I will be failing in my duty if I do not thank the RIL investors, friends and well-wishers who have prayed for speedy and early recovery of my father." He further thanked media representatives, who have been on a day and night vigil at the hospital since Dhirubhai's admission, stating that they have shown "exemplary discipline while gathering news about his father's critical condition." He also appealed to the media to refrain from making 'unnecessary comments' and urged them to "let Breach Candy doctors concentrate on their work". Meanwhile, first among the visitors at the hospital Thursday morning included Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
