Maruti hikes '800', 'Omni' and 'Esteem' pricesIndia's largest car maker Maruti Udyog on Monday hiked prices of its highest selling Maruti 800, Omni van and the mid-size car Esteem by between Rs 2,307 to Rs 8,835. "Prices of select models have been revised upwards by between 0.85 per cent to 3.87 per cent with effect from today (Monday)," Maruti officials said in New Delhi. While price of Maruti 800 Standard variant has been increased by Rs 3,753 to Rs 221,000 (Ex- showroom Delhi), the 'EX' version has witnessed a Rs 8,677 hike Rs 252,000, the officials said. The Maruti 800 DLX price has also been upped by Rs 8,835 to Rs 273,000, they added. The Omni five-seater variant price stands increased by Rs 2,307 at Rs 226,000. Prices of the two Esteem' variants- LX and VX have gone up by Rs 4,161 and Rs 4,696 to Rs 495,000 and Rs 544,000 respectively, the Maruti officials said. However, Maruti's other vehicles in the competitive 'B' segment like Zen, WagonR and Alto have been spared from the price hike along with premium mid-size car Baleno, station wagon Baleno Altura and the latest offering Versa. Maruti said the latest price hike, the company's third in this fiscal, has been kept to the minimum despite mounting input costs and a depreciating rupee. It said the company has instead implemented various steps to cut costs and boost quality. ALSO READ:
