Sinha says weak rupee not hurting growthFinance Minister Yashwant Sinha said on Saturday that he was unconcerned about the rupee's recent fall to record lows against the dollar, saying currency weakness was not hurting the country's economy. "I don't think it's having any impact on the growth rate," Sinha told reporters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in New York. "Day-to-day management of exchange rates lies with the central bank, the Reserve Bank of India," Sinha said, adding that the bank's main purpose was to minimise volatility in the freely traded rupee. The Indian currency set new closing lows against the dollar at Rs 48.53 last week. ALSO READ:
