Microsoft launches Indian version of MSN Explorer

Software king Microsoft Corp launched the Indian version of its web browser, MSN Explorer, on Tuesday, which it said would help surfers access key services through a single window.

The Indian version of MSN Explorer, that can be freely downloaded from http://explorer.msn.co.in, combines Microsoft's international offerings of web search, messaging services and free e-mail with localised content on news, finance, weather, entertainment and cricket.

"We are looking at bringing daily use web services along with relevant content to the consumer in a very compelling and convenient way," Shriram Adukoorie, director at MSN India, told Reuters.

"The Internet experience will be very simple and friendlier through this product." The year-old web site has some 3.0 milllion unique domestic users each month and over 30 advertisers, Adukoorie said.

A company statement the MSN site attracts more than 250 million visitors each month and is available in 17 languages.
