UTI's Daga to join CDSL on November 1

Unit Trust of India executive director Brij Gopal Daga will relinquish his present post on October 31 and join Central Depository Services of India Ltd as managing director on November 1.

Daga, who had opted for voluntary retirement, was supposed to remain with the UTI till December 31, and then join CDSL on January 1, 2002.

However, due to UTI chairman M R Damodaran's decision to reduce the retirement age to 58 years from 60, he has decided to join CDSL earlier.

CDSL sources also confirmed Daga's joining date.

Seven senior officials of the UTI -- including former acting chairman K G Vassal -- who have already completed 58 years of age, have been served retirement notices last week.

These officials, along with Daga, will retire on October 31, 2001.

The other senior officials who were served retirement notices last Friday include A G Joshi, P C Gupta, S S Hegde, S S Ratra, T K Das and R H Thatte.
