Britannia buys Kwality Biscuits trademarks

Indian biscuit maker Britannia Industries has acquired trademarks owned by Kwality Biscuits (P) Ltd for Rs 300 million, the Bombay Stock Exchange said.

Britannia has also agreed to buy a 49 per cent stake in Kwality Biscuits, an unlisted firm based in Bangalore.

France's Danone Group owns a stake in Britannia Industries.

Britannia's shares on Thursday closed up 0.4 per cent at Rs 690.50, while the benchmark Bombay index closed down 0.97 per cent.
