Fascel, Saltriver launch e-mail on cell phones in Gujarat

BS ICE Bureau

Fascel Limited, which operates cellular phone service in Gujarat under the CelForce brandname, announced the launch of 'e-mail on mobile phone' service on Tuesday. This service has been unveiled in association with Saltriver Infosystems Private Limited.

Company sources said that CelForce customers can now send and receive e-mails through their existing mobile phones without logging on the Net or using a computer.

Under this service, which has been launched for the first time in Gujarat, the customer's mobile number becomes his e-mail ID.

This means that CelForce users would have mobilenumber@celforce.com as their new e-mail ID. Because of this, CelForce customers need not mention their other mail ID and mobile numbers separately on their visiting cards.

Another advantage with this service is that any one across the globe can reach CelForce customers even when they are on the move. Customers can receive notifications for new mails in their POP mail accounts and can also read mails in these accounts thereby saving the customer from the trouble of checking his other e-mail accounts. They can also send e-greetings across the world from mobile handsets.

A host of other features include mail forwarding, personal address book, personalised short messages and address shortcuts. This facility is expected to help in enhancing the productivity and efficiency of people who are constantly mobile. Fascel is offering this service free of charge till April 15.
