Nayak: I'm not in race for top jobBS Banking Bureau UTI Bank chairman and managing director PJ Nayak says he is not in the race for the top post at Unit Trust of India, where he was formerly an executive trustee. This, despite North Block seeming to be keen on him. "I have come to UTI Bank with a five-year term and I don't intend to quit the bank leaving an unfinished agenda behind. I don't know why my name is being mentioned," Nayak told Business Standard. According to sources, the finance ministry approached him last week immediately after former UTI chairman PS Subramanyam put in his papers but Nayak declined to accept the offer. "My aim is to reposition the bank and I am working to achieve this goal. I have no plan to join UTI," Nayak said. Sources in Delhi said the ministry has already identified the right person for the top job and his papers are being processed. Apart from Basudeb Sen, chairman of Industrial Investment Bank of India and former executive director of UTI, two executive directors of Industrial Development Bank of India also seem to be in the race. The post could finally even go to an IAS officer, said a source. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO READ:
