Govinda's Chhappar Phaad Ke on Sony TV from Jan 26

Govinda to host Sony's gameshowPremiering on Sony Television from the Republic Day, the latest game show on the small screen, Jeeto Chhappar Phaad Ke heralds entertainer no. 1 -- Govinda's debut on television.

The show will be telecast for three days a week -- Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2000 hrs.

''This entertainment packed show promises unlimited paisa (money), unlimited mazaa (fun) and is loaded with dhamal-dhamaka, dialogue baazi aur gaana bajana in true Govinda ishtyle," says Kunal Dasgupta, CEO of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), at the launch of the show on Monday night.

He said that Jeeto Chhappar Phaad Ke allows contestants to win not just bumper cash prizes but also provides them with once-in-a-lifetime, unique shopping experience with Hero No 1.

"With just Re 1, you can walk away with fabulous goodies... From motorbikes to colour televisions, computers to cars," he said.

Govinda said that he was excited with the show which he said was entirely different from the rest.

''People would enjoy playing with me," he said confidently. ''Aap hanste hanste khelna chahenge ya khelte khelte...? yeh jitne ka mamla hai'' (Will you like to play laughingly or playfully? This a matter of winning…) is the question which will be posed by Govinda to all contestants.

The show is backed by a creative and high professional team, Dasgupta said. Ajay Kapoor is the director, Derek O'Brien is the quiz master. Then there's Ganesh Acharya too. He's Sony's in-house in-charge of production. Leslie Lewis gives the music, Nitin Desai is the art director. A catchy, foot-tapping signature tune by Rekha Nigam and Ranjit Kapoor and sung by Shaan is sure to capture the hearts of television viewers, Dasgupta felt.
