US-64 investors up by 75% in 6 months

US-64, the flagship scheme of the Unit Trust of India, has received good response from investors through out the first 6 months of UTI's accounting year.

The number of investors, who joined US-64 from July 1, 2000 till end of December 31, 2000, increased by more than 75 per cent -- from 123,000 in the corresponding period in the last year to 215,000 investors.

Up to December 2000, the total sales under the scheme were up by 32 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The net sales of US-64 till end of December 2000, registered a growth of 73 per cent (over the corresponding period last year).

The aggregate repurchases up to December 2000 are down by 4 per cent (over last year's aggregate repurchases in the corresponding period). The number of investors, who joined all UTI schemes from July 1, 2000 till end of December 2000, increased by more than 41 per cent, i.e. from 458,000 in the corresponding period in the last year to 643,000 investors.
