Naidu to talk on e-governance at OECD meeting in Dubai

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will talk about electronic governance at the opening session of the meeting of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Dubai next week.

Naidu, whose pioneering efforts at modernising and computerising Andhra Pradesh's administration have caught international attention, is a special invitee at the two-day OECD meeting commencing on January 16, Consul General, India, Asoke Mukerji, said.

"It is a great honour for an Indian Chief Minister to be invited at the OECD and be asked to present his perceptions on e-governance. This indicates the high esteem with which the developed world views the thrusts made by Naidu in information technology," he said.

Naidu, who will arrive in Dubai on January 14, is also scheduled to hold high level discussions with Dubai government officials the next day.

He is expected to firm up commitments and agreements in various fields, Mukerji said. The OECD Emerging Market Economy Forum on Electronic Commerce (EMEF) is being hosted by the Dubai Internet City and sponsored by Microsoft and Siemens and locally by Dubai Aluminium Company and state-owned Emaar Properties.
