Sucheta Jain among Business Journal's 'Women of the Year'Sucheta Jain, who worked to give a human face to the technology industry, figures among Business Journal's Outstanding 'Women of the Year.' Sucheta, along with her husband Shail Jain, founded Intelligent Information Systems in 1992 with the determination to break away from the corporate culture of treating people like commodities. "Sucheta invests in people, not things. Her innate ability to unlock the potential in others and earn their trust, whether they are employees, clients, end users or people in our community has been a driving force in the success and growth of IIS," said corporate leader Mary Moore while nominating Jain. Reacting to the news of the selection, she said, "I feel I am just doing my job and being a responsible citizen, and it feels great to be recognised for that. It is truly an honour, and I will work hard to live up to it." Disenchanted with corporate politics, Sucheta and her husband founded IIS with a goal to build a company founded on value of loyalty, responsibility, caring, pride, belongingness and stability. IIS employees participate in such programmes as keeping a part of a highway clean and donating blood. 'Adopt-a-School', however, is their most ambitious programme where 41 employees teach Maths and reading to children once a week. IIS is headquartered in Research Triangle Park in the United States and has an office in India. The company is associated with some of the world's leading technology providers, including IBM and Oracle, to provide complete e-business solutions for its clients.
