DPC warns MSEB against making PPA public

The Dabhol Power Company has warned the Maharashtra State Electricity Board against making public, the power purchase agreement between the two parties, as it would lead to breach of confidence, MSEB chairman Vinay Bansal said.

Talking to reporters in Bombay Tuesday afternoon, Bansal said that the DPC in a letter had warned MSEB against disclosing the contents of the PPA as both of them are bound by the agreement for maintaining confidentiality for three years after termination of the contract.

The DPC has served a notice to the MSEB following Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission's recent directive to MSEB, asking the board to disclose the PPA document to the Pune-based non government organisation 'Prayag', while delivering a judgement against the case filed by the NGO before MERC.
