CAG audit on Balco divestment begins: Shourie

The Comptroller and Auditor General has begun its audit of the government divestment in Bharat Aluminium Company, Divestment Minister Arun Shourie informed the Lok Sabha during question hour on Friday.

Though the time by which the audit report will be ready is not known, Shourie said that CAG is has been requested to shorten the period 'to a minimum'.

The audit is being conducted at the request of the Department of Divestment.
