CMC divestment to be completed by August

The divestment of government stake in the state-owned CMC Limited is likely to be completed by August this year, according to senior government officials.

"We expect the divestment process to be complete by August this year," a senior government official said.

The last date for submitting the expression of interest in the divestment was on March 31. "We have received good response to the divestment process in CMC. Top Indian business houses as well as leading international IT giants have submitted their EoI's," the source added.

Leading IT players like Hewlett Packard, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services are amongst a host of global players who have bid for buying the controlling stake from the government in the infotech company. The employees of the computer company has also submitted their EoI for participating in acquiring government stake in CMC.
