Sintex Industries to consider restructuring of the company's business

The Board of Directors of Sintex Industries Ltd at its meeting held today (April 07, 2001) appointed M/s Deloitte Haskins & Sells as advisor for restructuring the company's business, following the philosophy of focussed business considering the different nature of Company's existing two business namely plastics and textile.

Tata Power commissions Belgam power project

Tata Power Co Ltd has commissioned its 81.3 MW DG-based power project in Belgam on March 31,2001 as scheduled. The power purchase agreement with Karnataka Power Transmission Corpn. Ltd. (KPTCL) is for 12 years from commercial operation, which guarantees purchase by KPTCL to the extent of 75% plant load factor.

Pentasoft Technologies Q4 net up by 8.50%, FY 01 net profit up by 52.62%

Pentasoft Technologies Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 300.23 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2001 as compared to Rs 276.70 million in the corresponding period last fiscal. Total Income for the quarter ended March 31, 2001 is at Rs 1582.13 million as compared to Rs 1241.30 million in the corresponding period last fiscal. The net profit for the year ended March 31, 2001 is at Rs 1266.45 million as compared to Rs 829.80 million in FY 1999-2000. Total Income for the year ended March 31, 2001 is at Rs 5969.41 million as compared to Rs 4108.30 million in the previous financial year ended March 31, 2000. During the year the Enterprise Division contributed 69%, Engineering Services 18% and Education and Training 13% of the Total Turn Over. The company formed a subsidiary namely Pentasoft Technologies (Far East) Limited in Hong Kong to provide Education & Training & Enterprise Solutions to China Market during the last quarter of this year. As of March 31, 2001 there are 238 Domestic Training Centres and 13 Overseas Centres. The Board has recommended a 60% of dividend for the year ended March 31,2001 subject to approval of the shareholders.
