IPCL's MCB closed due to minor fire

The vinyl polyvinyl chloride plant of Indian Petrochemical Corporation Limited on the outskirts of Baroda, was closed down following a minor fire reported from the unmanned electric sub-station called motor control board, IPCL sources said on Tuesday.

Electric cable in the MCB area were destroyed due to the fire, the sources said adding that the plant would be back on stream soon after repairing of electric cable, which might take a day.

However, no one body was injured, the sources said. Soon after noticing the fire, the employees on duty at the plant, informed the fire bridge located inside the IPCL complex, which put it out immediately, the sources said.
