ABCL yet to clear I-T dues of Rs 177.5 million

The government on Tuesday said that Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited had not cleared all its income tax dues even as all possible steps under the direct tax laws were being taken for recovery of the outstanding amount.

Minister of State for Finance G N Ramachandran told the Rajya Sabha that the amount of income tax outstanding against ABCL is 177.5 million.

"All possible steps under the direct tax laws have been taken for recovery of the outstanding dues," he said in a written reply.

However, the company does not possess any liquid assets and has also been declared sick by the Bureau of Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, he added.
