IT agenda for PM's US visit fixedPrime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would meet prominent non-resident Indian IT entrepreneurs during his week-long visit to America as part of the efforts to promote flow of investments and technology in India. "The prime minister is scheduled to visit Stanford University and also meet prominent American non-resident Indians, including Kanwal Rekhi on September 12, when he visits the US next month," sources in the information technology ministry said. Vajpayee would be accompanied by a high-power delegation, including IT Minister Pramod Mahajan. He would look at sourcing foreign direct investment flow into the country -- particularly in the booming infotech sector -- during his stay at Silicon Valley between September 10 to September 13. Mahajan would lead the delegation to Silicon Valley about eight days before the prime minister's scheduled visit to the country, in an attempt to make advanced preparations, including meeting with chiefs of various IT giants, they said. Mahajan is scheduled to reach New York on August 30 as part of the speakers' delegation for the Conference of Presiding Officials of National Parliaments, but would move on to Silicon Valley on September 2 to prepare the ground for the Vajpayee's visit, they added.
