SC admits appeal against discharge of Ashwin Mehta from securities scam

The Supreme Court today admitted an appeal by the Central Bureau of Investigation against an order of the special court in Bombay discharging Ashwin Mehta, brother of erstwhile 'Big Bull' Harshad Mehta, from the multi-billion-rupee securities scam.

The appeal was admitted by a division bench comprising Justice B N Kirpal and Justice Santosh Hegde.
