The traditional snake boat race on the Muvattupuzha in Piravom town of Kerala mesmerized onlookers as they celebrated the harvest festival of Onam with great fervour.
More than 26 boats took part in the Piravom Boat Race festival.

Well known snake boats such as Jawahar Thayankari, Anariputhan, Champakkulam, Payippad, Vellamkulangara and Cheruthana took part in the race. The winners of the race were awarded with K Karunakaran Memorial trophy including various cash awards.
