We invited readers to share their favourite travel pictures. Here are the responses we received!

First up is Amol Karande's picture of a vulture atop a tree chomping a leg of a spotted dear killed by predators at the Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand. Amol says he loves travelling and has special interest in wildlife.

"When we reached the spot the predators had already killed the spotted dear. After they had their share the remaining was left to the scavengers. Vultures waiting for their turn swooped on the dead animal. One of the vultures picked up his share and flew away with the leg piece."

Mehul Patel from Anand, Gujarat sent us this picture shot during his visit to the Corbett National Park. The picture was shot in the parking place of a restaurant situated inside the park.

"The monkey was quite mischievous and I was following it steadfastly from the restaurant to the parking place," writes Mehul.

Anil Dutt Vyas from Jaipur was on his first safari on the afternoon of October 21, 2011 at Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan. He encountered this tigress, named ST2 by forest officials, near Kali Ghati. With only five tigers in a core area of around 900 sq km, it was a great sighting, recalls Anil.

"We followed the tigress but she did not like our movements, raised her tail and looked behind to show her disapproval."

Babu C did not have to venture out in a jungle to capture this amazing picture. "I found this beautiful small snake in my garden, which posed for a second. The very next moment the reptile vanished. "I was lucky to get this pose and shot," says Babu.

"The site of the baby monkey clinging on his monkey touched us," she writes.

The other picture was taken at Gulmarg on June 14, 2008 when Sheetal visited Srinagar. "It was a heavenly evening, no rain yet and the cool weather helped us explore Gulmarg. Amazing Gulmarg!"
